The exceptional Sauternes wine is a world famous nectar; it boasts 16 crus classified in 1855, and its fleuron, Château d’Yquem, received
the title of « Premier Cru Supérieur »

It is the terroir with its varying soil (gravel, clay and limestone) on a clay or at times chalk subsoil which produces the diversity of growths in this appellation.
With their magnificent old gold colour, Sauternes wines are very liquoreux, rich in glycerol, and they develop aromas of honey, acacia, apricot and citrus.

Even though its liveliness remains intact after 3 years, over the years, Sauternes will develop a creaminess without match while keeping its fruitiness and its vigour.
