Bordeaux Haut-Benauge A.O.C.
This appellation owes its name to History, to the viscountcy of Benauge ; there are remains of a powerful fortified castle in Arbis

Spreading in the central part of Entre-Deux-Mers, the soils are of “boulbènes”, thus exceedingly favourable to white grape varieties.

This appellation covers moelleux wines, powerful, lively and well-balanced; it also produces a few dry whites similar in character to Entre-Deux-Mers.

A particularity of this area, wine producers are allowed to chose between three appellations for their dry white wine : Bordeaux Haut-Benauge, Entre-Deux-Mers, and Entre-Deux-Mers-Haut-Benauge.
